Be aware of scam phone calls

Posted on the 1st August 2019

We have been made aware of a possible scam affecting some of our residents. If you receive a call you aren’t expecting from someone claiming to be from Paradigm, please feel free to hang up and call back on our customer services number 0300 303 1010 if you are unsure.

Here are some other helpful tips

  • Please remain vigilant and do not be afraid to hang up and confirm the caller’s identity, using another phone if possible.
  • If you are not sure who you are speaking with on the phone, do not commit to buy their product or arrange an appointment for them to visit your home.
  • Check the identity of the caller by calling the company they are claiming to be from i.e. council, gas, electricity, water and police – use the telephone numbers listed in your local directory or provided independently by your service provider. Do not use any telephone numbers provided by the caller as they may be bogus.
  • If someone unknown turns up at your door, do not let them in or make an appointment for them to visit until you are satisfied who they are – If in doubt keep them out!
  • If you are suspicious call the police on 101. If you don’t want to speak directly to police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
