Did you know – not only does leaving fire doors wedged or propped open disregard the safety of others, it is actually against the law?
Following the tragic events at Grenfell Tower, fire safety awareness has even greater relevance to both landlords and tenants.
Paradigm takes its responsibility as a landlord incredibly seriously but we need the support and cooperation of tenants to keep people safe.
Fire doors are designed to contain fire and smoke for a period of time and can save lives. However, for them to do their job, it’s vital that they are always kept clear. They should never be wedged open or have their closers disconnected.
There are some simple but crucial fire door safety rules which all residents should follow:
If you see a faulty fire door, don’t ignore it. Report it to Paradigm – it will only take minutes but could save lives.
