Handover of Hitchin Road flats gives residents a new start

A number of new one and two bedroom flats were handed over to delighted residents at Gillam Court in Luton earlier this month.

In total, the site comprises 97 affordable homes.

Among the residents to have moved into the new flats was mum of one Paige, who is delighted with her new two bedroom flat, having previously been living in temporary accommodation with her three year old son Bailey.

“I found the moving process extremely easy and I really like my new flat. My son is going to love it – he has his own bedroom!” commented 21 year old Paige.

The 0.91 acre development is situated within the Hightown East Regeneration Area, where it is conveniently located next to the train station and only a short walk from Luton Town Centre.

Another new resident, 26 year old Reniece Kokes, a Residential Manager at a Prison and Mum to four month old Levi, is overjoyed to have moved into her new home. “The new flat is much bigger so I have much more space. It’s lovely!” commented Reniece. “And being on the ground floor is great with a young child.”

Kieron Ferris is also delighted with the improvements to his quality of life after moving into his one bedroom flat; “It’s the best thing that’s happened to me for years, I’m really happy!”

Christine Nolan, Lettings and Allocations Manager for Paradigm Housing Group commented; “We’re delighted to be able to provide high-quality homes for people like Paige, Reniece and Kieron. We’re looking forward to more happy residents as we sign over the rest of the properties in the development.”
