Helping you calculate your rent

Posted on the 4th March 2022

You will have received a letter from us over the last few days setting out your new weekly rent from 4 April 2022.

You have told us that it would be helpful to know your new monthly rent total as well as the weekly amount which is outlined in your letter. We thank you for this feedback and hope you find the below calculation useful.

How to calculate your new monthly rent total

  1. Divide your new weekly rent by 7 (the number of days in the week)
  2. Multiply this by 365.25 (number of days in the year allowing for the additional day in a leap year)
  3. Divide this number by 12 (number of months in the year)

This will give you your calendar month rent charge.

For example:

If your new weekly rent charge is £250.50 then this is how you would calculate the new monthly rent total:

£250.50 ÷ 7 x 365.25 ÷ 12 = £1,089.23 per calendar month
