Homes at the Heart of making ends meet

Posted on the 12th August 2020

Our homes have never been more important to us than they have been during the coronavirus crisis; everyone deserves a safe, secure, comfortable place to call home.

That’s why the NHF’s #HomesAtTheHeart campaign is calling for a once-in-a-lifetime investment in social housing, for people like Danielle and Martin.

The couple received the keys to their brand-new home in Chesham in February this year.

“I’ve been obsessively watching the house being built brick by brick ever since I found out we were getting it! It’s one hell of an upgrade for us”.

The couple and their two children were previously living in a flat with no outside space of their own.

“This is going to change everyone’s lives, it’s a break we never thought we’d get. We are so excited to have a house and are looking forward to the extra space and family barbecues in the summer.”

The couple’s new home was part of a small development of homes, built on the site of a disused play area and row of run down garages owned by Paradigm. The development is part of our project to redevelop garage sites in the Chiltern area to provide affordable homes in area where the cost of housing is prohibitively high for many families.
