A message from Matthew, our CEO
I wanted to get in touch to say that I understand what a difficult time this is for all of us and to offer you my support.
I know that some of you may find yourselves with a significant cut in your income at short notice because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Please be assured that at Paradigm, we will take whatever steps we can to support you through this difficult time so that you will not lose your home as a result of a temporary loss of income.
Helping us to help you
If your work or benefit entitlement hasn’t changed, you just need to keep paying your rent in the usual way and make sure your benefit claim is up to date.
If your income has changed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, please get in touch with us straight away so we can work out the best way to support you. Call us on 0300 303 1010.
If you have a credit on your rent account because you have paid some in advance, this will help and we can tell you how long this will cover your rent. This will help if you are eligible to claim for benefits like Universal Credit but have to wait for a payment.
Most of you will be able to claim benefits to meet some or most of your housing costs. We can help you to do this but you will need to make the claim yourself and you can find more information about how to make a claim online at https://www.understandinguniversalcredit.gov.uk/coronavirus.
If you get into arrears while you are waiting for benefits, you do not need to worry. You will just need to make sure you pass on your benefits that are meant for your rent when you receive them.
If you are not entitled to benefits, we will work with you to find a way of bridging the gap until you get your finances back on track.
We are taking this approach with all our customers – including shared owners as well as tenants. I understand this is a very unusual time for us all and we will do what we can to continue to support you in the coming months.
