Estate services
If you’re living in one of our rented homes or your property has any shared areas, one of our partners will regularly visit your neighbourhood to make sure that these are kept in good condition.
We have two main contracts in place – one with Just Ask to clean the internal communal areas of our blocks and one with John O’Conner who look after the grounds.
The costs of these services are covered by the service charges that you pay along with your rent.
Our cleaning partners will clean all shared doors, bin areas and carpets. John O’Conner look after the external areas including grass cutting.

Please remember you are still expected to tidy and clean up after yourself if you choose to use any communal areas.
Looking after your grounds
Your grounds are maintained by John O’Connor (Grounds Maintenance) Limited.
March to October
Your estate will be visited at least twice a month. On each visit the Grounds Maintenance team will carry out work to make sure the area looks neat and tidy.
The type of work includes (this will depend on the weather):
- Grass cutting
- Weeding of shrub areas
- Litter picking
- Shrub and hedge trimming
- Sweeping car park
November to February
Your estate will be visited once a month. On each visit the team will do work including:
- Litter picking
- Shrub and hedge trimming
- Sweeping car park and paths

Your communal cleaning service
At each visit the cleaners will:
Inside the block
- Remove any litter
- Remove cobwebs from ceiling (where accessible)
- Wipe all ledges and skirting boards to remove dust and marks
- Remove any marks from the outside light covers and switches
- Remove any marks from walls (where practical)
- Clean the floors – vacuum if carpeted or sweeping and mopping
- Wipe all door handles and plates to remove marks and smears
- Clean internal windows
- Clean the front door and threshold to remove any marks.
The immediate area outside the entrances to the block
- Clear litter
- Sweep area
Bin areas
- Remove litter
- Clean the floors
- Wipe the bin lids to remove dirt and marks.
How you can help us
- Clear up any spills or litter
- Keep the area outside your home clear
- Take your rubbish straight out to the bin areas and don’t leave in communal areas.
