We have reached a key milestone in our history –15,000 homes!
We marked the occasion by making a presentation to young couple Natalie and Jake who have moved into a new three-bedroom shared ownership home in Milton Keynes.
Executive Director of Strategy and Business Services, Sarah Nickson, presented the couple with 15,000 pence worth of shopping vouchers, a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a bottle of bubbly to celebrate.
The couple lived with Jake’s parents for a year while they saved for a deposit – and they were delighted that the shared ownership scheme at Paradigm has allowed them to get a foot on the property ladder.
Natalie said: “The small deposit was what appealed to us most about shared ownership – on our earnings a month we could afford a mortgage, but couldn’t afford to buy outright. To save a larger deposit we would have had to live with Jake’s parent for at least another two years. We have a five-year fixed rate mortgage and will re-assess whether we buy more shares in the house or move at that point.
“The house is in a great location, we’re only five minutes from the shops and ten minutes away from our jobs and the town centre. The whole process with Paradigm went really smoothly.”
Jake added: “We are settling in really well. It still feels a bit surreal that this is our place, but we are gradually making it feel like home.”
Sarah Nickson said: “Congratulations to Natalie and Jake on moving into their new home and helping us to mark our 15,000th home. It was a real privilege to talk to them about their plans for the future.”
