Tayler’s new Paradigm home is ‘a dream come true’

Young mum Tayler Smith says her new Paradigm Housing home off the High Street in Marlow is ‘a dream come true.’

Tayler, 25, has moved into Coleman Court, part of a new development on the site of the old brewery in Marlow. The development provides 25 much-needed two-bedroom flats, 10 for affordable rent, six for social rent and nine flats for shared ownership.

The level access flat means Tayler can now live a full life with her daughter, who is almost two, and she is looking forward to her having her own bedroom for the first time.

“The best thing will be having a separate bedroom for my little girl. I am hoping to be able to get her into a set routine which will help her sleep problems,” says Tayler, who was previously living in a one-bedroom flat in Downley.

“Marlow is a great location for me, I am much nearer now to my family, who give me loads of support.”

Tayler is registered disabled after contracting meningitis twice. She was left with permanent nerve damage and uncertain whether she would walk again. The low point came when she was in a wheelchair recovering and discovered she was pregnant. However, determined to do the best for her daughter, brave Tayler has slowly learnt to walk again. She still has difficulty from time to time – struggling with the buggy and carrying the baby up the stairs to her old flat was very painful and stressful.

Tayler is now looking forward to a brighter future in her lovely new flat – and she praised Paradigm staff during the whole moving-in process. “Everyone has been so helpful and has kept me informed. Everything about the new flat and my tenancy has been explained really well to me.”

Development Director of Paradigm Housing Group Gavin Scarr-Hall said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this high standard accommodation in a high property cost area such as Marlow. Coleman Court is part of Paradigm Housing Group’s exciting plans to develop 600 homes a year over the next three years. We wish the new residents at Coleman Court all the best in their new homes.”
