At Paradigm, we’re committed to making our neighbourhoods greener and more sustainable. As part of this, we recently partnered with Amersham Town Council and were joined by volunteers from Amersham in Bloom to plant trees at two of our estates, Park Road and Pondwicks. The project is part of our wider efforts to improve biodiversity and enhance outdoor spaces for our residents.
With support from our Sustainability team, staff from our Customer Involvement, Neighbourhood, and Estates teams helped plant 16 native trees, including ash, field maple, wild cherry, and hornbeam. Winter is the ideal time for tree planting, as it allows the roots to establish before the growing season begins in spring.
A particularly meaningful moment came when a customer and her family planted a cherry tree in memory of her late husband, directly across from their home. It was a touching reminder of how green spaces can hold personal significance as well as environmental value.
Over the next few months, the team will be preparing the ground for wildflower meadows, which will start to bloom in late spring. The estates may look a little bare in the meantime, but by summer, they will be full of colour and buzzing with life.
A big thank you to Amersham Town Council, Amersham in Bloom, and everyone who took part in the planting. Working together, we can make a real difference to the green spaces around our customers’ homes.
