Showing off the Wright way to retrofit

Posted on the 26th February 2024

In a showcase of innovation and sustainability, Paradigm recently hosted Bucks Council officers at their pioneering retrofit project at Wrights Lane, Prestwood. The visit highlighted the impact of replacing outdated storage heaters with cutting-edge Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) and solar panels.

This visit marked a milestone for Paradigm’s first venture into large-scale retrofitting, with the Asset Decarbonisation team navigating through challenges to successfully equip 30 homes with ASHPs. The initiative not only underscores Paradigm’s commitment to environmental responsibility but also sets a precedent for future sustainable housing retrofit projects.

Bucks Council’s Housing Strategy and Development officer, Helen George, and Domestic Resource Efficiency officer, Paul Thomas, were among the attendees who explored the homes at various retrofit stages. Their interactions with residents underscored the positive impact of the upgrades on their daily lives. Helen George lauded the project as a significant step forward in retrofitting at scale, expressing eagerness to highlight Paradigm’s contributions to enhancing resident wellbeing through sustainable practices.

This initiative is a testament to Paradigm’s commitment to sustainable housing, promising even greater achievements in 2024 which we’ll be sure to showcase here!
