With the resident DJ spinning tunes and the aroma of a sizzling barbecue in the air on the scorching summer day, the gym was unveiled.
This outdoor fitness space features four state-of-the-art machines and aims to be the heart of the community. After Michelle Mullings, Hostel Team Leader, cut the ribbon and speeches concluded, customers immediately flocked to the equipment.
Among them was one happy customer who said “I’m excited to start using the gym. I have been at Lea Bridge for four years, and the effort the team has put into this outdoor space has made a big difference in my life. I think I’ll be in the gym every day!”
David Kenyon, Senior Manager of Supported Housing, said, “We really believe physical health and mental well-being is the key to success, we’re delighted to be bringing this gym to our customers and can’t wait to see it in use. I want to say a big thank you to everyone involved in this project, the team at Lea Bridge, the contractors who donated time to install it, and all the customers who helped and volunteered their time, from painting the car park to installing the equipment, this was a huge team effort.”
