Safeguarding Adults Week 2025: how to report your concerns

This week (17 – 21 November) is Safeguarding Adults Week – a time to focus on how we can keep vulnerable people safe. At Paradigm, your safety matters, and we want every resident to know what safeguarding is and how to act if you’re worried about someone’s safety.

What is safeguarding?

Safeguarding is about keeping people safe from abuse or neglect. It’s for anyone who may be in a position where they need help or protection.

If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. If you’re concerned but it’s not an emergency, you don’t have to handle it alone – you can talk to us.

When you report a concern, we’ll take your worries seriously, record what you tell us, and, where necessary, talk to the right people (like social services) on your behalf.

Why your voice is important

  • Speaking up can protect someone who might not be able to help themselves.
  • Even if you’re not sure something is “wrong,” it’s better to tell someone than to stay silent.
  • By working together, we can stop abuse or neglect early – and help people stay safe in their homes.

How to raise a concern

  • Call us on 0300 303 1010, we will listen to what you’re worried about and work with the right services to find support.
  • Make a safeguarding referral, by finding the appropriate local authority or safeguarding team here.
