Unlocking digital opportunities for customers at Lea Bridge House

We’re excited to share the success of our laptop recycling initiative at Lea Bridge House, our homeless hostel in Leyton, East London.

Instead of bidding farewell to used laptops from our offices, they have been revitalised and are now available for our customers to use at the hostel.

This project aims to enhance their access to digital resources, while also serving as an asset for our Information, Advice, and Guidance service held at the hostel. These laptops can be used for tasks such as completing settled status forms and applying for Universal Credit.

A customer at Lea Bridge recently had a broken phone but found solace in using one of our laptops.

“The laptop has been a total lifesaver! Since my phone needed repairing, I could retrieve all my emails and messages, and even update my Universal Credit.”

Michelle Mullings, Hostel Team Leader, says “This is a game-changer for our customers. We have individuals who frequently make trips to the library just to access their emails. Thanks to these laptops, we can bridge the digital divide and make a real difference in the lives of our customers.
