Gardens at Lea Bridge House get a makeover!

Posted on the 6th June 2022

The team at Paradigm’s Lea Bridge House has been working hard to create a beautiful new outdoor space for residents to enjoy…

During Covid it was recognised that residents at Lea Bridge House, our homeless accommodation in Leyton, needed a better outside garden space to enjoy.

Plans had to go on hold due to Covid, but this year we are pleased that revamping the garden was back on the agenda!

With a lot of hard work and great raised bed building skills from Daniel Davies, Facilities Maintenance Manager and Carl Viner, Building Maintenance Engineer, the garden has come to life and includes a pond, vegetable garden and outdoor football table.

Daniel Davis commented: “We were lucky to get donations from some of our contractors which has helped enormously – John O’Conner donated a lot of plants, MPD Manpower, our security contractor, donated £1,250 which we will be using to buy an outside football table and plants, and Rapid 8 donated labour time to install the electrical points outside the pond.

“By doing this work we have managed to make a great area for residents to be able to grow fruit, vegetables and other plants as well as giving them a nice area to enjoy.”

Residents will maintain the garden in future along with contractors Garden Flair.
