We have a target to stop sending any of our waste to landfill by 2026 – and we are already making great progress!
We now use Hippo bags to dispose of all the waste from our empty homes, kitchens and bathrooms and reactive maintenance work. We were delighted to hear at a meeting with Hippo that 100% of this waste is now diverted away from landfill, with 90% being recycled and the rest going to an energy plant.
“Last year 30% of our Hippo waste went to landfill so this is really good news” says Ursula Nedic, Environmental Sustainability Manager.
Earlier this year, we also changed the company that provides us with skips to one that diverts all waste from landfill.
“We are now focusing on waste disposal from our offices and are discussing options with the Estate Management Company at Glory Park,” adds Ursula.
You can find our full Environmental Sustainability strategy here, which details our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our business.
