A blog from Nathan

The theme for #HousingDay2018 is ‘the tenant voice’. We asked one of the residents at our Foyer to write us a blog about his experiences as a Paradigm resident.

Life at The Foyer

Living at The Foyer has been an excellent experience for me so far for so many different reasons. It’s given me a great sense of independence as well as boosting my self confidence and belief. Living on my own was a new experience for me and took some getting use to. Although it can get quite boring at times, I’ve learnt to love it. It gives you a great sense of freedom.

Money management too is something I’d never really had to think about before. Now I have to think about my bills like rent and food allowance and this has given me a better sense of responsibility.

Knowing that there is always someone here to listen to my problems and help me in anyway they can has helped me a lot too. Driving me to learn new things and to develop life skills I never had before. I now have a great sense of guidance and I’m learning to believe in myself a lot more. I never use to do anything outside of my comfort zone, now however I’m able to push myself a little bit further because the people here at The Foyer are here to help me and to help me achieve my dreams.
