Today is World Mental Health Day and we are honouring the occasion by signing our Time to Change Employer Pledge.
Our Chief Executive and Management Team signed the pledge this morning, signifying our commitment to put in place an Employer Action Plan. The Action Plan is based on best practice policy to help promote positive mental wellbeing.
“Since signing the pledge, 95% of employers have said it has had a positive impact on their organisation.” (Time to Change)
We have made a great start, with 28 members of staff signing up to train as Mental Health First Aiders. We have also provided mental health awareness sessions for over 100 employees to date, with a further 90 signed up to attend a workshop.
Executive Director of Operations Tracey Gray commented; “We’re determined to create a working environment that promotes positive mental health and builds healthy resilience to enable our employees to get the most out of their working lives. We’ve been busy enhancing the support we give our employees; being proactive in helping people to manage their mental health is key, but equally being equipped to deal with issues that emerge.
“We’re very proud to be making the Time to Change Employer Pledge and embarking on this journey.”
